@Dame Dash's Motor Oil

Look at their defense last season -

#2 in defensive rating - only marginally behind SA (all the while playing at the 4th-fastest pace, typically slow-paced teams are the best defensive teams)
#1 in opponent FG%
#1 in opponent 3-pt%
#1 in rim protection
#1 in blocks
#1 in steals
#1 in deflections
#2 in contested shots

You think it's just a coincidence, that one of the greatest and most talented offensive teams of all time, still managed to outhustle and fight more on the defensive end than arguably any other team as if they were underdogs?

:usure:
You do know who Ron Adams is, right? Along with Tex Winter, one of the greatest ever at that particular position. Read a couple of Draymond interviews to see who the Warriors defensive leader credits with building team's culture on that end

Yes, Adams is definitely the brains behind why their defense is great, however, nearly every single player from stars to scrubs over the last 3+ seasons have commented on how being involved in everything (which is mostly down to Kerr) has made them play harder on both ends of the floor. You don't think involving and empowering players makes them play harder? You don't think Kerr doesn't have one of the highest understandings of team dynamics after all the different teams he's been a part of? You don't think he knows what it takes to keep a team on an even keel through the highs/lows? You don't think his coaching isn't one of the main reasons why the Warriors have won more games over a three-year span than any team in history; breaking numerous records along the way? Look at the game last night, and not only did they not miss a beat without Durant, but dudes were out there near-equalling the impact that Durant has on both ends.

Look at the Cavs for instance, look how disorganized and mentally-scattered they've been over the last two+ seasons because there's no rhyme or reason to how they do things.

The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
You can tell who truly understands leadership.

Kerr learned from his mentor Pop on the importance of creating a unique winning and inclusive culture that the right players want to be part of.

He's created a culture where Mike Brown can pick up the reigns and not miss a beat. He's created a culture that attracted Kevin Durant and got him taking pay cuts to be part of. He's created a culture that's got role players getting emotional about how much they're balling out. He's created a culture where Prime Iggy was happy to come off the bench as a sixth man. He's created a culture where an all time shooter like Klay is happy to be third option.

It's more than just X's and O's. It's about creating an environment where you can get 6 foot plus freaks of nature to work together towards a common goal.

Kerr "sucks" but he's out here making adjustments after the Warriors dig themselves into deficits (through boredom and complacency) that teams have never come from behind in regular season play.

Pelicans shot themselves in the foot/are a sorry excuse for a team. Not surprising they lost.

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
He is stubborn in sticking with these current rotations..
He has to get Bell and Javale a shot..
They bring energy, length, rebounding and defense..
Also try to mix Swaggy and Quinn in the line up..
Looney ain’t working(he held his own, no doubt)..
But these rotations are going to be the demise..
Hampton 5 needs to change and fresh, young legs need a shot..
Steph ain’t hurt and he needs to stop bullshytting..
He mentally drifts in and out during the postseason..
Needs to take this challenge and find a way to bust they ass..

@Gil Scott-Heroin I tried to tell you man :francis:

This idiot is gonna be the downfall of GSW like he was in 2016:snoop:

fukking clown got outcoached by fukking Pringles and is using Curry as a decoy :snoop:
The fact you blame Kerr for that loss (even upping this thread after the series is 1-1; Warriors taking homecourt advantage off Houston) is even more proof you'll never look at this shyt objectively. You've got an agenda and you'll fit the results to match it - the Warriors lose a game it's cause of Kerr, the Warriors win a game it's cause of the players.

The Rockets made the right adjustments for G2 (as any team is supposed to after losing), got their role players more involved, stopped being a caricature of themselves, and the Warriors didn't have an answer on the other end - poor shot selection (most notably Curry and Klay) and careless turnovers (most notably Curry, Durant and Draymond).

I don't know how effective JaVale can be in this series, especially when the Rockets go small with shooters all over the floor - he can't defend in space and doesn't have the BBIQ to make the right rotations. Similar applies to Bell, he's too young and inexperienced - even though I would like to see him get some minutes, I don't think Kerr's in the wrong for not playing him. Swaggy played 15 minutes in G1 and 17 minutes in G2 - there's no need to play him any more than that.

Apart from the Klay-centralized lineup with the second unit, the lineups/rotations are fine. The players just need to execute better.
