Lebron's footwork is what's keeping him from entering rarefied air that only Kobe and MJ are in. See that second foul he committed in Game 4? Couldn't even put his foot down properly to stay in front of Curry.

I can say Curry is better because he is, and he has supreme confidence in all facets of his game. Bron doesn't want to shoot jumpers....Bron doesn't want to shoot free throws....Bron doesn't want to dribble in traffic....Bron hasn't scored 40 in a year...he holds the ball for 10 seconds if he doesn't have an open path to the rim......he drives to the basket against 1 on 1 coverage and flails passes out to Dellavedova instead of shooting from 8 feet. He had a great run as best player in the world but those days are gone. GSW are the better team but like you said, "he doesn't want to be the general he has to be." He will do anything but try to score more unless the game is a blowout in one direction or the other.

My point is one man can't beat an entire team. Bron will always come up short cause people want him to be Superman.... if the team fails it always falls on him...regardless if he putting up triple doubles damn near every game or not......could Curry win would Lebrons current team? Could Bron win with Curry's....it's not the players in this series it's the teams......

"Phil Jackson used to call Scottie a 'sometimes shooter.' Sometimes they would go in, sometimes they wouldn't. That's how it is with LeBron. He's a great talent and a great player but you can see his flaws as a basketball player. He doesn't have an offensive game that he can rely on: no low-post game, no mid-range jump shot so when the game really gets tough he has a hard time finding easy baskets and getting himself going. That's what Michael did in his sleep so that's why the comparison is wrong."

He's not out there by himself. Kyrie is right there as far as scoring. j.R has been playing good. TT is dominant on the boards. He holds the ball for 10 seconds and kills the flow of the offense. He gets touches on every possession for 40 minutes so he should get 8 assists. When was the last time you saw LeBron catch and shoot 2 straight possessions. For as gifted as he is, he always overthinks when it's time to score. Think about it, he has been guarded for 54 possessions by Iguodala and has taken 4 shots and committed 4 turnovers.

Anyone got any objective crap on this?

I know in recent years since analytics have come out, Kobe's actual scoring vs. shot difficulty has actually been below league average. But that's in the sucky era - has anything calculated how he did in his prime, or is that data not around?

Personally, I've always felt that Kobe's talent exceeded his play, and a lot of it was because of stuff like this. But his shot volume also caused his accuracy to be exaggerated. Anyone can make tough shots is they shoot enough of them - stans forget the 3 tough shots he missed and remember the 1 he makes. He seems like a better "tough shot maker" because he makes 200 out of 800 tough shots in a season, which gives him a lot of highlights, but I'm not certain he's actually shooting them significantly better than other good shooters, who might be wise enough to only make 20 out of 80 such shots on the season because they're not submarining team play for personal glory. The "20 out of 80 on really tough shots" shooter is just as accurate as the "200 out of 800 on those same sorts of shots" shooter, but he gets a lot fewer highlights.

Kobestans literally don't care about the misses - they'll ignore 5 straight 10-27 games if it leads to one 16-27 40+ point game.
Kobe relied more and more on shooting 3's from about 2003 on which decreased his efficiency.

Over his career he shot 48% on 2 pointers vs MJ at 51%. Not much of a difference.

:deadrose: what the fukk is that supposed to mean???? That makes ZERO SENSE

Makes good sense to me.

Kobe was more skilled than Michael. Could explode in ways Michael never could.

But Michael had better basketball iq and a stronger will. This means Jordan knows when to take the shot and when not to, what type of shot to take, etc. Whereas Kobe would shoot over 3 defenders because he can hit the shot 70% of the time eventhough that isnt the smartest play to make in the 4th quarter of a playoff game :francis:

If this was 2k, I'd rate Jordan a 98 and Kobe a 95

No, he is not.

Jordan was far more skilled at creating space, finishing near the rim, using the fade, first step, etc.

Jordan scores more, on higher efficiency.

I'm shocked you even wasted your time responding to that nonsense.... "Kobe was more skilled than Michael. Could explode in ways Michael never could.'.... I mean quotes like that make me think Kobe is behind the keyboard or his personal fluffer.... One or the other.

Lowkey watching lebron has scared me away from Simmons. Im not even gonna lie. Miss me with his 19-12-5. Useless stats.
Its so hard building WINNING teams around offensively limited, ball dominant players

Lebron's won for most of his career lol
