Where did I say the west needs groupthink? apparently you don't know what groupthink actually is.- The first two lines means that you DO believe what I asserted that you do. You've been complaining against Westerners of Turkish descent in this thread. These people ARE Western. They've been born in the West.

- Why do you think ethnic Turks in the Netherlands are not Westerners?
- You've complained about Sharia in this thread before. Do you know what Sharia is? Do you think anyone who practices a form of Sharia (all practising Muslims) are incompatible with the West?
I do think ppl of different backgrounds can definitely be apart of western culture. But living in the west is not the same as assimilating in to western culture.
As for Sharia, I think those that put Sharia law above societal laws shouldn't be allowed

Netherlands and the US aren't comparable here.
The Netherlands is a nation-state meant to be the one singular homeland of the Dutch people where they get to govern themselves without other groups of people having influence. Being a Dutch nationalist is exactly what you're supposed to be in the Netherlands.
The US is a melting pot, country of immigrants where only about 25% of the country considers American to br their ethnicity. We're supposed to have some level of foreign immigration, though the "how much" and the "who" is up for debate.
