Eratosthenes had heard from travelers about a well in Syene (now Aswan, Egypt) with an interesting property: at noon on the summer solstice, which occurs about June 21 every year, the sun illuminated the entire bottom of this well, without casting any shadows, indicating that the sun was directly overhead. Eratosthenes then measured the angle of a shadow cast by a stick at noon on the summer solstice in Alexandria, and found it made an angle of about 7.2 degrees, or about 1/50 of a complete circle.

According to the Coli FEers, that's "white man's maff".

Once again this does not prove the shape of thr earth

It just proves that thr sun moves in and completes a circular path of motion

I'm shyt at geography and sizes, but even I could tell you reasons why earth isn't flat.

1. Why can't I see the Empire State building from Toronto?

2. Why is the moon, Mars and the sun round while earth is just flat?

3. Explain night and day. Do you know how BIG ths sun is? There would be no darkness on either hemispheres if the planet was flat.

4. We have planes. We would had seen the edge by now. Why does it feel like an endless curve?
