Wish Loud Records sound could have stayed forever. One of the greatest ever. Amazing label. Too bad the buy outs of parent companies and bad deals ended them the way they do to all labels. :(

Someone has to play the part

He played it and did it with incredible artists he believed in.

Those artists were culturally important, not commercially lucarative. It was a huge gamble on his part but he had the best people working for him and lt them do what they do.

The street team is legendary. Matty c and schott free were incredible a&rs

He said he wanted jay but here the a&rs said he passed. Imagine if jay, mobb, wu, pun on one label... incredible.

Loud became the new def jam for a minute.

Is he a rich cac who had connections due to his fanily? Yes. But he found a lane in the culture and brought the very best to the world.

Never heard anyone say anything bad about strve. Thats rare.

He had his group signed to other labels and was gettjng paid to promote those albums as wrll. The wu tang shyt alone had steve building with every label.

Then he rebuilt everything again with src akon n shyt.

I fukks with steve rifkind

The man is singlehandedly responsible for bringing rap back to the east coast when the west dominated that shyt. Loud records had a hell of a run in the 90s. Say what you want about him but dude changed music with loud records.
