Steve Spurrier spent 12 seasons at the helm in Gainesville making life miserable for Georgia fans everywhere. He compiled an 11-1 record against the Bulldogs while on the sidelines at Florida. During one particularly horrible encounter in 1995, Spurrier and his Gators ate the Bulldogs alive by a final count of 52-17. When asked his reason for hanging “half a hundred” on UGA, Spurrier crowed, “We heard no one had ever done that before.”

it likely could be, this south carolina team might be the biggest chokers ever. 3 leads of 13 or more points blown in 4th quarters this year against the likes of missouri, kentucky, and tennessee. the defense was awful down the stretch in all of those games, but spurrier goes brain dead and asks dylan thompson to win games by himself.

His playcalling is still pretty good, tho. :patrice: ... just maybe, too pass heavy. SC hadn't put up these kinda offensive passing numbers in years. And that includes Spurrier's 4-5 year run he has been on.

Lorenzo Ward is the problem. He's gotta go...Spurrier's holding his tongue, but behind the scenes, he has to be giving Ward an earful.

Sill gonna beat Clemson, tho. :birdman:

This season really isn't on SOS, Lorenzo Ward is a terrible DC. They are completely dreadful on defense. Can't cover or tackle. Spurrier may retire though. He is not having fun anymore and thats when he said he'd retire.

Spurrier gonna checkout he got his golf game and booze to fall back on. Carolina should build him a statue for making them relevant.

its like i said though, with the game on the line i think he puts himself in the shoes of the qb and wants to win the game from that position. it bit us with garcia, it bit us with connor shaw even as good as he was, and its killing us with thompson. the defense is terrible but you cant absolve the offense even with the numbers theyre putting up if they cant get it done in crunch time. back to the play calling spurrier is still an excellent play caller but sometimes he has to just put the ball in the hands of his playmakers and ask them to make a play rather than the qb.
