Stevie was actually at one point being targeted by white supremacist groups for the work he was putting it. He almost threw Berry Gordy in the bushes for trying to keep him from writing songs about what was going on in the early 70s
Nowadays these musicians take up armchair causes to look good. Bullying, water crisis, some disease that's only infected like 6 people...Stevie was doing it when it could cost you your career to be out there.

First of all,
for trying to shyt on Stevie Da GOATBut you bring up a good point, regarding states with "some form" of the law. In order for this to become a movement, they need to identify, specifically, which part of the law they're fighting and then which states are non-compliant. Gotta have your ducks in a row before engaging in a boycott.
With a clearly defined offense, and a clearly defined goal, not only would other entertainers join in, the general public would too.
(And you dudes acting like states would rejoice if hip hop artists stopped performing there are nuts...y'all underestimate it's impact at every turn, smh)

Come on breh. Ray Charles refused to play in front of segregated crowds in the late 50s and 60s. I don't wanna hear shyt about rappers in 2013 being afraid of fukking their money up. Performers back in the day were putting their entire LIFE on the line to stand up for what they believed in.
