Those fakkits didn't give a fukk about that case, shyt most of them wouldn't give stevie wonder a second of their time if he wasn't playing his piano and "putting on a show, for them white folk"

But, with that being said, the TM case got a lot of publicity.

Stevie Wonder Reacts to Zimmerman Trial Verdict - YouTube

While performing in Quebec City on July 14th 2013, Stevie Wonder reacts to the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial that followed the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He declares he will not perform in Florida as long as the Stand-your-ground law isn’t revoked there, or anywhere else in the world with such a law.

Stevie Wonder said:

“I’ve decided today that until the stand your ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again. Wherever I find that law exists I will not perform in thatstate or that part of the world…you can’t just talk about it, you’ve got to be about it”

The problem is not "Stand-Your-Ground" law. The problem is its interpretation. Somebody runs up in your property, it should not be a felony if you shoot him and he dies. You chasing down somebody else is a completely different story. I like the activism, but it's a bit misguided and ignorant

I'm not really sure if stand your ground laws are the cause of this situation..Other factors led to Zimmerman getting found innocent, lack of eye-witness testimonies for one, he pretty much killed the main witness (trayvon). A neighbor witnessed the scuffle but not what led up to it.

I appreciate Stevie for standing up for what he believes in, but Stand Your Ground has nothing to do with the Zimmerman case.

In some states, if somebody confronts you with violence, you have an obligation to run away if you can do so and do so safely. In Stand Your Ground States, as long as you are not the primary aggressor there is no obligation to flee. You can "stand your ground.

In the Zimmerman case, no matter if you believe his version, or you believe he should have been convicted it doesn't matter.

If you believe Zimmerman's verson of events, Trayvon was the primary aggressor. But SYG doesn't apply here because he says he was being held down on the ground, therefore he was not able to flee anyway and regular self defense rules apply.

If you believe Zimmerman was the primary aggressor and should have been convicted, SYG would not apply because he was the primary aggressor and you do not get the benefit of SYG in that situation.

Come on breh. Ray Charles refused to play in front of segregated crowds in the late 50s and 60s. I don't wanna hear shyt about rappers in 2013 being afraid of fukking their money up. Performers back in the day were putting their entire LIFE on the line to stand up for what they believed in.

bolded part is true :manny: but that's just because these artists/music are not apart of our culture

but Quebec being more racist than the rest of Canada.... I don't know about that.. I'd say you pulling that one out your ass..
