The hood fukked with I'm Leaving heavy and I played it the most off the album. I saw Nore perform once and he just said "Yo, Nore know this and Nore know that..." and the crowd lost it's damn mind.

Facts. The hood definitely loved "I'm Leaving".

But musically, I didn't f*ck with it as much as those other joints. Nore was HOT in '97-'98. But I love what Esco, Sosa and Nature did on those other records. The first half of the album was dope. After the first few joints, sh*t started getting shaky. This and Throw Your Guns were the only ones I f*cked with in the second half.

All we wanted were 12 or 14 joints of this caliber, and we woulda been happy. There was just too much filler. I need a documentary really breaking down what went wrong.

I remember Dre saying the problem was "too many chefs in the kitchen", lol.

This was a big deal, back then. I remember the hype and how crazy it was waiting on this to drop. So everybody wanted a piece. And I agree with Dre. When you have artists this big, you want to be a part of the movement and get some credit. So there was a lot of different visions for what this was supposed to be, and that made the joint a mess. Sh*t sounds like three different albums.

Stoute was managing Nas and Trackmasters. So he made sure TM had joints on there. Nas wanted Dre involved, but there were so many execs pulling and pushing, Dre couldn't really take the lead and have much say on what was what. The label heads were beefing throughout the whole process on what this was supposed to be. They f*cked it up.
