I kind of want to start doing that now, I'm tired of being just another number in these applications. The last time I did it, it worked back in 2010.
I was fated to ask The Coli this question.
, filled it out, asked to see the manager and gave it to her. I had an interview the next day and started at the end of the week. The online job market is what really makes it hard to find a job IMO. If it's for a particular location, a lot of the times I'll still go in. It puts a face with the name and shows you really want the job. Anybody can copy/paste a resume into an online application, but only a few will make the time to come in and speak. Unless of course they explicitly ask you to not call lol.I definitely call, and depending on the job, I'll send thank you letters as well.
