the Heat would not be champions right now had they lost that game instead of winning it

What kills me is that this post, despite being a joke, is the EXACT argument that that fakkit Deano Costa on Mad Dog radio made for an HOUR STRAIGHT on his show

Seriously, this clown was on vacation then came back a week later and spent over an hour stating, then rephrasing, then stating, then rephrasing, "people forget, if Ray Allen doesn't hit that shot in game 6, the Heat don't win the finals. Ray Allen is the reason the Heat are the champions"...I really wanted to call him up and ask him who exactly is forgetting this fact. It was only one of the greatest NBA playoff moments of all time.

I was listening because a friend of mine always talks up Costa so I decided to give him a shot. But it turns out he is just a racist white Magic Johnson with the analysis.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
The game was just dope beyond belief, the way the Heat started chipping away at the lead, then finally taking the lead, only for the Spurs to come right back and look like they stepped on their throats.

Probably the best game I have ever seen, the only thing that could have made that more insane is if that was game 7 itself.

The Spurs fukked up. If Karl doesn't take out Duncan, Miami never gets multiple rebounds to give Bron two chances at a three or that one to Ray. Its just....I dont know. Kwahi Leonard and Duncan were grabbing everything off the board all series then in the last 20 seconds, it went to shyt. The Spurs will live with this shyt for a long, longggggggggggggg time. Then to turn around in Game 7 and have Duncan miss a shot that would've tied the game with a few seconds to go that he makes 99.8% of the time. That's gotta hurt :sadbron:

Unbelievable series though. Unbelievable fukking series. Game 6 was the best Finals game I've seen in years and Game 7 was somewhere up there. And that's not counting the two blowout games earlier on :whew:

And game 7 was no slouch. In any other year that game 7 is the classic stand out game. But game 6 was just that fukking stupid that it overshadows what was a great game 7. Can't sleep on game 1 either.

Yeah game 7 was a classic as well, wasn't decided until the final minutes, t's just forgotten cause it had to follow up possibly the best game ever.

I can't get over that game (I was rooting heavily for the Spurs)

Has any team come so close to winning a championship without actually winning?

It didn't come down to the Spurs having to make one particular routine play to wrap it up. All they had to do was make ONE out of FIVE or SIX possible routine plays, and that was the championship. JUST ONE, and it was in the bag!

1. Ginobili misses a free throw that could have put them up by 6

2. Diaw and Leonard fumble a rebound on a missed three-pointer (a rebound THAT's RIGHT IN THEIR HANDS) that would have sealed the game. Instead, the Heat recover it and hit a 3 to cut the deficit to 2

3. Leonard misses a free throw that would have put the Spurs up by 4. Instead they are only up 3 and the Heat still have some life

4. The Spurs fail to get the rebound on a missed three pointer

5. Chris Bosh gets the rebound, and the Spurs fail to foul him and send him to the line for 2 shots. Instead, they let him pass it out to Ray Allen

If things go differently in ANY of those situations, the Spurs would be champs

That doesn't even take into account possible strategic blunders (not intentionally fouling before the Heat can get off a three-point attempt, Pop benching Duncan, etc.)

Then in OT, the Spurs again miss a free throw or two that proves to determine the decisive margin

Ginobili CLEARLY gets fouled driving to the hoop with the Spurs down 1

Then Danny Green was arguably fouled by Chris Bosh on a last second three point attempt

After the Spurs lost Game 7, it took me a few weeks to even want to follow sports again

It was a thrilling, exciting game. Perhaps the most dramatic I've ever seen. But I think it also shows how thin the line can be between winning and losing. A lot of the time, it all comes down to a bit of luck.

I'm still having nightmares recalling Timmy missing point blank shots (against Shane Battier!) that would've tied the game up with seconds to go
