I would if there wasn't Covid, I think a lot of people would tbh.

:manny:
A lot of places with outdoor dining rarely did numbers in, or even offered, outdoor dining in evening/night time during winter pre-covid - you may have gotten a few people who braved it during a 40 degree day.

People will simply go back to take out/delivery. I definitely don’t see places having the demand for it make sense economically to staff and stock their establishment for winter outdoor dining

Of course but now that there isn't an alternative...

The city council passed a law last week allowing them to use propane tanks for gas heaters prior to that they couldn't. There were a few high end places with natural gas setups but for the most part it wasn't an option due to cost.

Without indoor dining restaurants can't survive on take out/delivery without additional support.

And with outdoor only during the winter they’re further set back by paying for more staff and supplies for an extremely unpredictable outdoor crowd. I live in California and even we don’t opt to dine and kick it at bars/restaurants outdoors during the night in the winter. Best case is a lunch crowd but most people would just go back to delivery vs having 8pm dinner in 22 degree weather, wind blowing, snowy/wet/cold ground underfoot, heat lamps or not

those heats lamps are also just another expense, especially if they buy enough to be effective

Some people aren’t even getting that. I know some people who are only getting 105 to 220 per week. It’s amazing how little the struggle of people is being reported in the media
it's amazing we're skipping the whole conversation about the slap in the face that unemployment benefits are in general. people keep talking about the loss of the supplement, and that's messed up, but they're lucky one was even given. no way in hell should states get away with their max being $240/wk (AZ) or $275/wk with a low ass 12-wk benefit period (FL)
