Is sending draft bills to the opposition led congress to sign first before your own party agrees the standard operating procedure now?

accepting a $1.8 trillion dollar bill would have been the end of the matter for the republicans thus ending any possibility for funding covid testing, states and etc.

i dont know, because he hasn't been tested by pelosi actually signing off on the 1.8, and trump screaming at the senate on twitter to sign it. that reality has not happened yet

but if he doesnt sign it, then so what? what would pelosi lose by signing it if she isnt getting shyt anyway? the dems get a massive political win by putting the republicans on the spot, mconnell turns the bill down, and pelosi is in the exact same spot. where is the loss

Pelosi threw away her leverage when she bowed down to mitch months ago, but Im happy to see that IMO shes gained a fair amount of leverage back recently and grown a backbone as well.

I applaud her holding out and tbh, I hope she holds out til we get that blue wave next month. Then they can go even bigger

leverage means that you have something that the other side wants. that they need something from you. it's the GOP that's controlling how big the bills will be, pelosi has no say in it until March, IF the dems win back the WH and senate
