I don't see a good reason why people who aren't out of work need $1600 a month or the original $1200 one time payment. Just shore up the people that are out of work and businesses that are closing, first. This country is selfish and disgusting.

the 1600 in the mnuchin bill was for people who are out of work. 400/week

i agree on the 1200 but people would probably go out and spend it, or pay off their credit card or whatever

Ohhhhh! that makes better sense. Thanks for clarifying. Maybe I'm just optimistic, but I see them extending unemployment and other assistance during the budget talks they need to have to avoid a shut down by Dec 11. I doubt will be a full package, just some stop gap funding until Biden is inaugurated.

Y'all really think they'll pass something on December 11th? Maybe just mcconnells $300 a week proposal until the end of January?

I’m not sure, but letting it run out would look extremely bad.

I would like to think something would get done but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t

They really gonna kill small biz, especially in high COL areas. Yes, we need the package Pelosi was fighting for as we need states to be able to help these businesses if we shut down again.

The owner of the nail shop I go to is basically begging people to get their nails done or buy certificates and merchandise to help them stay afloat. Businesses aren’t doing nearly their normal levels of business being open after months of being closed, and the concept of closing again without aid, congress should be ashamed of themselves
