Sadly you have a lot of people who work basic jobs who think they actually made it off of their grind.

When in reality they were gifted a home, purchased grandma's home for cheap, and/or will be given a lofty inheritance when they pass away.

As a result going through the motions of work provides them enough cover to appear self made. They think it's that simple for everyone.

Yea that's what people think "making it'' means when that can also put someone in a hole struggling. it's all a mess.

You replied to my post pertaining to what happened in the past, dont move the goal posts and switch the topic after I post my link proving what I stated

Bernie did great work in the past, Im sure he’ll do more this weekend, save the smoke for the rest of the trash.

Bernie has put in work in the past. Though I think I didn't make my point clear.

IF whatever new bill passed does not add any new net funds ($ is larger than the ~900B or whatever the bipartisan bill had) & simply repurposes existing "poor folk" funds from UI to stimulus checks, that should absolutely not be looked at as a win - in any way shape or form.

THIS IS NO WAY A WIN.

We just hit under the apex of 08' crisis in terms of permanent unemployment measured via continuing claims.
Continued Claims (Insured Unemployment) (CCSA) | FRED | St. Louis Fed

Across the country, we will probably be as "open" as we are right now for the next 3ish months, and this also backed up by initial claims rising the last month or so.

Forget the supplemental UI of $300 extra per week. A lot of people will see their income drop to 0 soon. These people should be an absolute priority and ideally given supplemental income + extended benefits. It is also "do or die" in terms of leverage, if they keep the senate you don't think more Jim jordon rhetoric is going to start flying and we don't get shyt.

@I Really Mean It

from this

For disclosure; I would receive a check but not currently on UI.

Maybe my gripe isn't with Bernie per say, but the continued inability from Dem's to negotiate up. Unless Dems win the senate i think that bi partisan bill would have been the best we get.
