nancy needs to accept this fukking deal

if moscow mitch turns it down, the the dems get to make the senate republicans the face of heartlessly hanging the american people out to dry, two weeks before an election. every vulnerable repub senator would be fukked

if it passes, then the people get all the money in the bill

where is the loss?

good :yeshrug: let him and lady G and mcsally and gardner and collins and thillis and daines explain why they turned down a stimulus bill that their voters need, two weeks before a general election

if the repub senate rejects a white house-approved bill, the dems see a massive W

Yeah I’m heated about this. My wife was fully expecting to get her retro pay only to get the rug pulled from underneath her

My wife is pissed, thankfully she didn't max out her TDA for this paycheck. A lot of teachers did and are bringing home next to nothing now. My wife said the recent town hall with diBlowJob he said teachers were going to get the retro. What a piece of shyt

I'm afraid it's a sign of things to come unfortunately. I hope unions think twice before putting themselves in this position going forwards, they tired to do the right thing and helped the city out and this is the result.

Also wanted to share that outside of the city there are districts that have gone without contracts for years and now this is happening. There are also hiring freezes and layoffs already happening upstate because they haven't received funding from the state/fed.

one could make the argument that debt accrued during the lockdown is covid related due to less tax revenue. :jbhmm:
one could make the argument that such debt receipts are easily accounted for and could/should be available upon request for quick federal reimbursement/loan, instead of desiring to give an arbitrary and unconditional amount to states:jbhmm:
one could make the argument that 10k real estate tax doesn't favor the majority of folks suffering economically, thus doesn't make sense to be apart of a stimulus package during a crisis :jbhmm:
one could make the argument that anyone excusing/tolerating a politician injecting unnecessary contingencies on fund relief isn't in dire need and lacks empathy by prioritizing political strategy :jbhmm:

i mean if kudlow, powell, mnuchin, trump, pelosi, and every senate democrat supported it, youre telling me the senate republicans would REALLY not pass a massively popular and much needed stimulus?

that just sounds ridiculous, and it would be political suicide. so why would we not want pelosi to corner them like that?
