the senate republicans dont care about passing another bill. the ONE FACTOR, the ONE PIECE of leverage that pelosi has, is shaming them into it before the election. she has utterly and completely failed at taking advantage of that

Here's the problem, workers didn't ask for this. This happened because of failed leadership. It's cute to say something is better than nothing. The problem is that we would be better off in Ocotober without contradicting facts from anti-science officials in the White House. Blaming Nancy shows an accountability issue.

Skinny bill, fat bill, stand alone bill. Why are we here? Bills have been passed in the House. Knowing it won't pass in the Senate is not an excuse not to negotiate.

what's wrong is that you arent grasping the dynamics of where we are politically right before an election, and the balance of power

can you please explain to me the path that YOU think pelosi should take, and what she'll get done by doing it? because i've laid mine out about 40 times, and gotten nothing but bullshyt high-horse responses that don't contain any strategy or explanation of how this will play out in the real world

I'm well aware there is an election going on. In your scenario, it implies that Senate Republicans just learned about it a week ago. At any point in the last six months, they could have come up with a counter offer to the Heroes Act, but they weren't interested.

If they wanted to pass another stimulus, they would have.

The real risk in Pelosi’s hardball is that should Trump lose in November and the Senate flips, is there going to be a deal in the lame duck? Or will it be sabotage things for Biden and Dems coming in?

There is a funding bill needed to be passed in December, another continuing resolution. But that’s the only other window before Inauguration Day.

But taking a deal for sake of deal isn’t what she should do. Especially since rich people don’t need anymore tax breaks and backdoor slush funds.

Who cares? Let republicans figure it out
