The unemployed absolutely must be a priority for any immediate aid. I understand many want another round of stimulus checks, but 12 million unemployed are now staring down the expiration of their unemployment in a matter of three weeks, sending them into the winter without any assistance to keep a roof over their head and food on their table. The stimulus checks can wait until after Biden is inaugurated. The urgency of the moment is squarely about extending unemployment. This will be retroactive to Oct 1st, which isn’t August, but will suffice.
