This is utter madness. The idea that you can half ass this and wait until April to do it again is laughable. It flies in the face of everything the senate GOP under McConell has been...going all the way back to 2009. You can already see the playbook. Pass the omnibus bill now to keep the govt open, then in April (when we have a new president) suddenly start talking about the deficit. Demand a deficit neutral stimulus. Demand tax cuts. etc. You can literally see them gaming this out.

This bill needs stimulus checks. The next bill needs stimulus checks. The next bill AFTER that needs stimulus checks. We should be doing everything to get out of this hole.
