What is McConnell's play here? Why is he so against a big bill the covers everything? I'm pretty certain at this point dems would agree to the liability protections at this point if the bill includes UI, stimulus checks, and state and local aid. So what gives?

His play is very simple. He wants to pass a skinny bill now which wont do shyt. The when Biden comes to power reject any future form of stimulus as they already passed one in December. No state aid means plenty states will be forced to make deep budget cuts which worsens the economy. Also that means crime goes up. They will pin on the rise of crime to police reforms and blame Biden. He will try to sabotage the economy, blame it on Biden and help the GOP win seats in 2022 and ultimately the white house in 2024.

The Fed didn't give back that $455 billion in unused CARES act money, Biden can EO that shyt like Trump did with the LWA using unused FEMA money. Those unused funds can't be moved until 2026. That's why senators are saying this bullshyt bill is just a down payment until inauguration. Then the real stimulus bill will come February.

This is why the Georgia races are important. Because best believe if the Republicans wins the senate races McConell will see no reason to pass more stimulus in February.
