Plenty of people live comfortably on 45k in a professional job with no side hustle. Teachers, nurses, random govt employee or F500 company employees make that, they put in their 40 hours and keep it moving - everyone making 45k ain’t doing so by scraping together 3-4 hustles

Most teachers who make 45K a year also have other things going on too. They're tutoring kids, they're doing something else to make ends meet, especially if you're in a major city.

People in major cities been getting screwed by this from jump

and young teachers may do all that but those who are settled and parents themselves aren’t. I’ve watched a lot of my friends go from teacher-after school program counselor-tutor-summer school teacher to just teacher when they had kids.

either way, I don’t care what income you make, if you’re still making your full income, you don’t need a check, just like I don’t care what income you made before, if you’ve lost income, you should get a check. At this point in the pandemic, it’s clear this is a stratified crisis, it’s not like last spring when it felt like the whole economy was gonna collapse so let’s send money everywhere. We know who has been impacted, support them, support states, support frontline workers (they’ve become a lost talking point in all this) and KIM. Everyone wants free money, I get it, especially since the govt hands out money to corporations like candy, but beyond tit for tat, aid should be focused on those impacted only, regardless of what their 2018/2019 taxes say.

Like I said to breh up top, high COL city residents been getting shafted by this from jump. Funny how people were ok with 75k cutoff now that it’s getting hotter in these streets nikkas is like “ 50k is too low, think of the major cities ”

if the dems have any self respect, they'll absolutely steamroll the republicans in the next couple weeks, not listen to a fukkin word they say, pass whatever they want, and then hold a press conference bragging that the only reason the american people got 1400 dollar checks is because the democrats won in 2020

These threads are just further confirmation for how self interested voters are and little people know about the make up and population centers of places outside of where they grew up.

The reasons the numbers are what they are is because the vast majority of Americans live in urban areas.

If the 20% of Americans who life in rural areas get a come up, so be it.

This is false, if they're single they have a roommate. If not they have a significant other who makes the same or more.
