Royal Palm Beach car thief arrested for 56 burglaries

LATEST: Greenacres teen accused of breaking into cars in Royal Palm
A suburban Greenacres teenager is accused of breaking into five cars and taking items from them, as well as trying to to enter several other vehicles, in Royal Palm Beach early Thursday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Christopher Dillion, 19, was arrested and is facing charges of armed burglary, armed vehicle burglary and petit theft. No bond was set for Dillion during a brief hearing Friday at the Palm Beach County Jail.
Deputies said in their report that they watched Dillion, who was wearing a mask, as he either broke into or tried to break into cars on Kensington Way in the Victoria Groves neighborhood off State Road 7 south of Southern Boulevard.
They said they saw him rummaging through the cars between 3:30 and 4 a.m. They observed him during this time from unmarked cars, according to an arrest report.
Investigators say they found coins, a camera, camera equipment, an Amazon Fire Stick media player and a check for $55.31 in Dillion’s backpack and a folding knife in his pocket. Dillion is also accused of damanging a security camera.
Deputies said in their report that Dillion confessed to committing the burglaries.
