dudes said the exact same thing about The Rock before he came back

some of you internet nikkas will never learn
rock kept himself relevant by doing movies and became an even bigger mainstream star, vince/cena were begging for the rock to come back. austin on the other hand remains a nobody outisde of wrestling. you must be a fool to think austin is still some kinda huge draw

Jealousy Of The Rock Has Been Rumored For Years

That's definitely not it. He was the first one to wish him good health and a quick recovery from surgery. He did say tweet something slick two weeks before Mania 29...he said something like "there's no way I"ll be at Mania 29"...he said it with that comical way he be speaking.

Nobody in their right mind has ever said the Rock returning woudln't draw huge. No one. No one on here. No one on the mainstream IWC boards. Not Meltzer. Not hack journalists..not even the little Rock hating site the Bleacher report. Rock returning was the only known saving grace for a failing wrestling industry in America pre 2011.

You must of missed the WWE in 2000 when he came back and definitely must of missed the WWE in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004.

the fact is austin made himself second fiddle to the rock and hogan by doing all those lame "authority figure/gm" roles, he deluded himself as anything special by being on the show doing the same thing for years and years, plus he always had to one up the active guys on the roster and beat them up, he only took one l and that was to brock, which led to him walking out like a bytch

austin's return dont really mean shyt to be honest, big deal he'll come back with his plain black t-shirt, his jorts, his kneebraces, stun somebody who can never get him back and drink a beer on the turnbuckle, that shyt got played out by 2000

I know, but this is shyt I been saying for like 10 years, austin aint nothing special anymore

to be honest he aint been shyt since that 2 man power trip shyt in like 2002

all this GOAT talk is absurd, hogan and rock were bigger draws, bret and shawn were better workers, arn and flair were better talkers, last I checked to be considered in GOAT contention you have to atleast be the best in one of those categories.

I think WWE hurt Austin by making his post-retirement appearances cheap and repetitious. It became boring watching Jolly Austin lead "What?" chants, stunner some heel like Miz and drink beer. And that sucks because in terms of WWE performers he is arguably the GOAT. It doesn't get much better than vicious, intense, angry Stone Cold.

Meanwhile, Rock stayed away for years, became a huge mainstream star, and when he finally came back it seemed like a big deal. Rock's a bigger star outside wrestling. That combined with Austin's appearances in recent years make Austin take a back seat, unfortunately.

Austin IS jealous of The Rock and has been for some time. Although you can't really blame him everything that he has done The Rock has done it better.

Austin's style of both promo and working would be a tall task in the PG era.

It ALL depends how his return is treated, hes a big deal who should be treated like a big deal, the audience would respond accordingly especially if he's booked with the right guy, for better or worse Rock had Cena lined up waiting for him, cats don't like Punk but you best believe him and Steve would make some fun tv, plus they have back story, same with Brock, they can throw hands and settle things now from the "walk out controversy". this is Stone Cold we are talking about, that dude aint getting no crickets, ever. Tough Enough showed he's still more than capable of intense promos and dude is still in respectable shape.

He'd need to be a little more giving as a character in PG land but let's not be crazy.
