Austin from late summer/early fall 1996 until probably early 1998 was GOAT. No excessive pandering to fans (if you want Stone Cold to such and such give me a hell yeah), beer guzzling, etc. Especially that first heel run leading up to Wrestlemania 13.

That period of the WWF was hot! Austin, HBK, Bret, Sid, Undertaker, and Vader all beefing with each other in some form or fashion. The intensity! shyt amazes me that Raw didn't get a couple of ratings wins in 1997.
