“If you’re trying to earn the fans respect, you’re really starting in the hole because people feel like he’s being forced down their throats. He’s not ready. They’re looking at the body of work. With the two other guys — three total in the Shield — he’s doing one-third of the work, come in and shine and get out. Now all the sudden you’ve got all these gaps to fill in the blanks, and he hasn’t been able to fill in those blanks.

“You can’t take [your spot in WWE] as a given. As soon as you think you’re entitled, you’re thinking it’s a given — no, bad things are gonna happen because it’s conveyed in your presentation. It’s like when Alabama took on Ohio State. Ohio State was number four, Alabama number one, and I think Alabama assumed they were supposed to win that game and they got the h*** beat out of them because Ohio State went and punched them in the mouth. You can’t ever assume that everything’s just gonna happen because then you get a h*** of a wakeup call.”

I'm mixed on Reigns, cuz he been my CAW cone to life for real, and I always cringed at his attempted swagger. Austin makes some good points, though...

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
He's right. I think reigns has a sense of entitlement

There's nothing to indicate that he's putting in work to fix his flaws

His ring work has not changed at all pretty much since he's started

He didn't put in much of an effort in the rumble either, pretty much laid down and took a nap til it was the end... And stone cold also called him out on it

You really had Stone Cold top 3 three off that little 5 year run he had at the end of the 90's? :comeon:
Those years were the GOAT years, but so often is it mistaken as Austin's era.

I hadn't thought of your reasoning before... :wow:

I think people keep misinterpreting what Stone Cold is saying. He's not "jumping off the Roman Reigns bandwagon," as a matter of fact I'll go as far as to say that Stone Cold is usually very critical of younger talent and rightfully so, most of what he says is constructive criticism.

He's pretty much saying what a lot of us have been saying about Roman Reigns, including his fans, that he's not ready to main event PPV's especially WM. Stone Cold always said he saw a lot of potential in Roman, but now isn't his time yet. He needs more cooking with some midcard championships (that feud with Rusev should've been capitalize with Roman than Cena because Cena doesn't need that rub). I really think they shouldn't have wasted Roman in a feud with The Big Show when he could've been used for Rusev. After Cena's done with Rusev now he won't be a credible heel.

Also, I think Stone Cold still thinks he has the potential, but he's seeing what most of us are seeing and that Vince is ruining his potential FAST with all these horrible promos, rushing him to main event WM, terrible feuds, not letting him practice more wrestling moves, experimenting with character changes here and there, etc.
