Stop and Frisk = THE MOST RACIST POLICY AROUND?

Why the hell is this draconian policy allowed to exist in this country? In the liberal haven of NY no less? This law has been proven time and time again to NOT reduce crime, simply because the law depends on racist cops to look at people and determine based solely on a citizen's appearance whether or not to accost and interrogate. Its pathetic, racist, and sad that liberals would allow this shyt to go on as long as it has. And now the mayor of San Francisco (another liberal haven) has insisted that stop and frisk be implemented in his town. shyt like this makes me glad I live in Texas, because that shyt would never fly here.

You raise a good point that's been puzzling me lately too. I can't quite reconcile in my mind my common understanding of racial progress in coastal vs southern states vs. the fact that coastal cops are fukking horrendous towards minorities. I guess there's just more of a history of gang crime in NY/CA that makes cops more reckless?

Im well aware of this, but Obama (the so called first black president) says nothing about the thousands of young black males getting harrased by a racist and corrupt law that does nothing but subject young black and latino males to the whims of the justice system. But I don't blame him though, I blame his sycophants and lackies that encourage him to avoid looking too black, out of fear of him being eschewed by the racist American's who apparently didn't realize he was "black" on the first election!

I don't think that shyt is limited to coastal cities or bigger cities. That shyt could happen anywhere and probably does indeed happen everywhere. The law is obviously supposed to be neutral. However, it would be naive to think it's not applied in a racially biased manner somewhere considering the long history of racism in this country. All a cop needs is a reasonable and articuable suspicion that someone may be engaging in criminal activity. Then they are allowed to stop that person and pat them down (if they think the person has weapons, drugs, or other contraband on them).

Not sure how you are laying the blame at Obama's feet on this one. This has been the law for quite some time. Not sure how you could possibly say Obama's the worst president for black people, either. Like other presidents have been different. If anything, he's just continuing the tradition.

Only this guy will take a grave injustice going on at a local level in a local municipality and turn it into "Why isn't the President doing anything about this?"

Stop and frisk is fukked up though. NYers are getting mobilized on this and hopefully they'll ramp up the pressure and we'll see an end to it soon.

True enough. Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ sent the FBI goons to investigate corrupt and racist police departments during their Presidencies. All Obama has done is asked the Homeland Security department to assist police in cracking down on Occupy protesters and asked the DEA to crack down on legal marijuana dispensaries. He sent the FBI down to Florida for the Martin case when the GOP Governor Rick Scott already had the ball rolling on an investigation and charges.

The Patriot Act opened up the flood gates folks. Once it was shown that this country was full of a bunch of scared ass sheep who would willingly grab their ankles as long as it kept them "safe" then the wheels started turning in local governments and shyt like Stop and Frisk was born.

I personally just don't see why at the start of every shift a cop has to turn on a small camera that records audio and video and feeds into a 16gb jump drive of sorts.

How? I'm not saying he's the best, but what makes him the worst?

The constitution is set up so that the president can't directly interfere with local laws such as these. As part of our freedoms in America local governments are free to make such laws no matter if the president agrees with them or not.

The best he could do is campaign on the issue, but don't you think the president should be dealing with more pressing issues? I could see if we weren't on the verge of a global depression and world war 3 then he could devote his time to bickering over local laws.
