Just because they haven't visited our dusty little planet from literally an uncountable number of planets.

Why would anyone want to find aliens or hope they show up?

The scientific community even stated that if aliens ever showed up, it's because they want something not because they want to say "Hi". Think about it, if you sent modern armies w/tech back in time to the 1600s what do you think will happen when they come across a settlement? The modern armies will take it over or destroy it. Same thing will happen to the Earth if Aliens showed up.

Why when people think of aliens they assume that they think like us humans .... I know us humans always want to understand and try to relate to something but I don't think we can understand how aliens would think .....: try explaining a car engine to a cave man .. still not the same but u should get the gist
