:deadmanny: :skip:Nikka, how many bricks did u chop up lateley?

Thats the problem with the Coli lately. When the fukk did that become a requirement to listen to some gangsta music. Its all ENTERTAINMENT, not some shyt to live ya life too, its not suppose to relatable. Sometimes I wonder the age of ya nikkas. Ya'll be looking up to these rappers as role models and superhero's rather than musicians.

News Flash: Jay didnt really lose 99 bricks. Young Thug aint out here shooting nikkas. Camron aint really a super street dude. Gucci Mane aint really up in the kitchen whipping up chickens.

Jus take this music as entertainment and keep it moving. 99% of rappers in the game never did the ish they talk about. So what does that mean now? The future of rap is nikkas spitting bars about paying back student loans and studying hard for their accounting majors?

After what he said about junkies being cool in hip hop and his freestyle on hot97 I got nothing but respect for him.

Troy Ave. Is an example of how broken and defeated NY seems these days. You don't see the West Coast or the South making old-sounding records, proclaiming the purity of their sound. Its pathetic. Make a new sound. Stop going on your own radio stations, crying about not getting played.

Troy Ave is a hustler who raps, rather than a rapper who hustles. Jay, Big, etc all may have started out hustling but rap became their obsession. They worked on their craft. When I hear Troy Ave I hear someone who feels like he has a potent product to hustle and has no interest in improving it. In reality he's an average rapper, a more boring Meek Mills. He doesn't do anything well. Jay had flow, Big had wit, Nas had storytelling, etc. Even today if we compare new rappers...Kendrick has storytelling, Danny Brown has wit, etc. What does Troy Ave have outside of a facade?

NEW YORK CITY
theres nothing wrong with troy ave. Troy just as good as rich homie quon or any of these other new rappers coming out of different regions. Problem is nyc is so hard on their own rappers yet promoting bullsht music from other regions. What hit nyc hip hop the most, is this new generation of followers. The city never had that dynamic before, this is the first time in nyc hip hop head history that this happened. The NEW new York hip hop head would give the Flatbush zombies or joey badass a hard time, but give nikkas like migos a pass

Yup, I said it my other thread. New York needs to give innovative rappers a pass. Even if it isnt as good as the past MCs. A nikka like Future opened up many new lanes and sounds for ATL. Yet if Future was a NY artist on the comeup. He would get laughed outta town.

Even tho now, Future n Mike Will's sound is what runs the radios on the east n all over.
