Ignorant thread IMO.

El-P BEEN in the game for over 20 years and is 41 now.

Put some respect on that white boy's name, mane. That boy is an underground legend.
This.

That said, RTJ is a bit overrated by fans and critics alike. They're hyped up to be this fantastic group and honestly, they're just alright. Sugar rush music and not much else to it. RAP Music was the best thing they did together and a genuinely good album.

They deserve the props though so I don't go too hard on em

it was cool as a one-off side project, I could tolerate it...figured he got a little excited by nerd cac praise for the el-p produced lp, but would get right back ...but once Mike pretty much started recording exclusively nothing but rtj material it became infuriating ...like if there was rap equivalent of the world court at the Hague ,I'd bring that up on charges for atrocities against hip hop...if I had a time machine I'd fukk around and pop up like

giphy.gif

on the first hipster cac journalist that started the critical circle jerk for RTJ before he could submit that first review

I'll never forgive rap smarks for gassing that shyt , I wish another 10 years of drake running the game on you all :pacspit: .. we're going on 5 full years of Mikes prime gone, with 0 solo projects , wasted and we won't get them back

imagine if blueprint era hov put his career on hold for 5 year stretches to record nothing but that corny ass linkin part collabo bullshyt ...

I can feel this post. Although, IMO.....Run The Jewels is NOT El-P's best work he's done as a rapper & producer, but one of. Now I'd put El-P's Fantastic Damage ahead of RTJ....and his production on Cannibal Ox's The Cold Vein and Company Flow's Funcrusher ahead of RTJ too.

I will say this. EL-P's production be evolving like a mf. Like that dude knows how to make different shyt and make it SOUND good.

I never listened, got way too much hype for me before I actually heard a song. That's pretty much always a no-go for me. :yeshrug:
I won't be mad if somebody put me on to some dope joints, if they got any :feedme:

RTJ is El-P's sound cleaned up and filtered through some ole EDM glo-stick waving hipster beard having sensibility... whoever mentioned "festival" music hit the nail on the head. As cynical as I know El-P is, this was him "selling out" if there is such a thing in this day and age. :yeshrug:

Adding Killer Mike over these beats is just to soften the blow for the backpackers :pachaha:
