Just was having this thought.
There was a time, wayyy back, when "real nikka" and "real man" was basically synonymous... up until a certain level of principles, but they were close...
As time moved on, what a "real nikka" and what a "real man" meant moved further and further apart.
What a real nikka is now is pretty much what a female who ain't had a father or grandfather, would think a real man is..
A dude that gets mad, and acts tough... might shoot a dude cause he step on his shoes... stab a dude over his baby mother. Or cause he messing with his girl. Sells drugs, did time...got shot and stabbed himself..
A real man is pretty much the opposite of that.
Basically what u see now with rappers, is what a real nikka/real man is to women... and the lost young men, since they've never seen a real man... they try to mimic these real nikkaz..
And the cycle continues

Its been dysfunctional since the mid 90s when any black male that doesnt have that "street look" was called soft or "not real". That was why everyone hopped on the "real nikka" wave.

I’m 34 so when I hear somebody say it I’ve always taken it as a man/women that stand on they square and are morally and even Spiritually stand they ground win lose or draw. Stand on the principles that you have set for yourself and be able to alter them when need be as time goes on .

Being a "real nikka" has morphed into some street nikka shyt honestly. Being a "real nikka" is essentially the top rank you can be in the hood so most dudes from the hood will tell you they are "real nikkas" and only fukk with other "real nikkas". Some of my friends will tell you they're "real nikkas" but we grew up in the projects so a lot of them haven't mentally evolved past street mentality.
