Rip to him. I've always said that criminals, and I mean hard core criminals, are not normal. Trying to understand and empathize with them is stupid, and shows that somebody really didn't grow up around such elements.

Go to the ghettos and slums where people are affected by crime more and ask them how they'd like to deal with criminals, then go to the middle class and upper class areas where robberies don't happen and ask them, and you"ll get different answers.

Not trying to debate this. But if I have 2 possible scenarios to consider, the first being that 3 16 year olds were just hanging out and decided to randomly shoot a brother 13 times for no reason at all and the second scenario being there were other unreported factors involved that account for the excessivenss of this crime, I'm more inclined to assume the latter. Either is "possible" but I'm going off probability. And no, I don't take the official police word on things like this.
