I think it's way deeper than that. The majority of the wrestlers working before the 00's did or said racist things. To them, being racist = KKK and nothing else, so there's a lot of shyt that "can be forgiven".

shyt man, last year Meltzer pretty much defended the use of the N word by wrestlers because "it was a business word, it didn't meant racism in wrestling". That kinda fukked up mentality is the one 90-95% of our favorites have, the fact people still don't think that's the case is kinda staggering imo. Wrestling is a fukked up world in a whole bunch of ways, if you are a fan of it you gotta learn to live with it or just plain stop consuming it because your childhood memories will be shattered eventually
