BLM piggy backed off the work of the Ferguson activist, which were made up of by and large straight black men.

See further explanation here.

Activist who in many cases gave their lives to the movement. Again, all of which were straight black men, including the brother in the video above.
https://www.theroot.com/ferguson-activists-are-dying-and-it-s-time-to-ask-quest-1794955900

Of the 20 unarmed black people killed by police in 2017 19 were black males, only 1 was a black female(%5).
Police shootings 2017 database

By appropriating the struggle and work of straight AA men and falsely accrediting it to others, you just prove the OPs point that straight AA male voices are being silenced, particularly in our own community, in favor of non-AA blacks, women, and lgbt people.

Alright I feel you on the BLM issue specifically. It's a reformist movement at the top. But at it's core it's simply a continuation of a struggle that's always been a struggle for black people.

As far as statistics on black police death, I agree it's an issue that is gender disproportionate. With that being said it still happens to black women and we never hear about it. Remember what happens to Sandra Bland?

There's also shyt like this

If you think black women as a collective don't care that is where I disagree. Look at Erica Garner. She has been protesting relentlessly since Eric Garner's death till she either was killed or died from exhaustion. You think she wasn't being sincere?

absolutely...just watch CNN (an example)

damn near all of the brothers they feature on there EVERY DAY are gay black men

- don lemon
- keith boykin
- charles blow
- vann jones (he's so soft and docile that he may as well be)

not knocking their lifestyle or their preference, but do they represent you?

the straight black man with some bass in his voice is bouncing a ball, trying to rap, or on his way to prison.
even the "positive" straight black males in this era are all entertainers - chance the rapper, john legend, common etc etc...

anybody that doesn't fit their mold is reduced to being a YouTube personality :manny:

Above the fray.
black women and blacks gays always complain about being silenced, but all of the major so called black online media cater to them and there are thousands of articles speaking for them and bashing the straight black male. However I never see articles rebutting any these points. I never hear anyone speaking for the average blue collar black male just trying to survive. Any straight black male who tries to speak from their point of view is shouted down and insulted. we need an alt black movement. there is more popular support for black trannies and they are less than 1% of the black population.

I'm calling your bluff, String.
What's stopping YOU from creating a blog or platform to speak up for those issues?

Your choice of avi and username must point to some way you identify with the character.

Instead of complaining, why don't you be that voice that rebuts the bullshyt?

I think its a good idea for black men to have separate movements because I'm tired of hearing black men complain about child support, divorce settlements, child custody, false rape allegations & domestic violence double standards and doing nothing about it. Dudes are quick to get on social media to complain about double standards but won't go to court.

Edit: I mean I see black men complain about child support and being kept away from their kids. But I don't see a lot of these same men going to court about it. Tyrese did all that crying about paying $13,000 a month and not being about to see his kid, then skipped a few visits to see his daughter. Then come to find out he is making $100,000 a month. Master P went on several tv shows calling his ex-wife a drug addicted, neglectful, bad mom but when it was time to go to court to get custody he didnt show up.

But on the other side I know plenty of good hard working black men who get lumped in with the bad ones. But by not sticking to together and not fighting for your rights the good ones get treated the same or worse than the bad ones. Guys who have to pay for a kid that's not theres all because they signed the birth certificate or a chick gave them name as the father. But then you have guys with 20+ kids paying nothing or very little child support, never see the kid. Black men and women for that matter need to have better spokes people. Becuase most news station hand pick gay, p*ssy whipped dudes, or sell outs to speak for the black men when they want an opinion. Just like Donald Trump he had a bunch of sell outs and desperate black people to meet at the white house, then had the press waiting to snap pics when they got done.

Although it may be hard for a lot of you who've been thoroughly indoctrinated in flawed intersectionalist theory on oppression to view anything outside of that framework, in order to give an unbiased analysis of how systematic marginalization in affects certain groups, but the fact of the matter is that straight black AA men from the time that they're children face more systematic oppression and marginalization than black immigrants, black women, and black lgbt people. Yet, we're painted as some kind of oppressors of these comparatively privileged groups by these same people in a collaborated effort with the mainstream dominant society. Straight AA men are statistically:

- Most likely to be suspended or expelled from school

- Have the lowest college graduation rates

- Are the least likely to be hired

- Are the most likely to be falsely accused, arrested, charged, and sentenced for crimes

- Face the harshest sentencing of any demographic in the nation for the same crimes

- Most likely to die in police custody

- Most likely to be killed while unarmed by the police

- Most likely to be homeless

In some respects, even American Indian females face more systematic marginalization than black females, as they are statistically more likely to be victims of all violent crimes than black females and are placed in juvenile detention at a higher rate than black females, but the rate at which black males face this trumps every other demographic by far.

Being a straight Black Man in 2018 is harder than being a gay one #fact

Study reveals that straight black men receive more discrimination in hiring and salary recommendation than gay black men, while gay white men receive more discrimination than straight white men.
Unmasking Black Gay Privilege | HuffPost

Black men even deal with colorism on a systematic level that effects us economically, and actually deprives us of opportunity on a level that black women do not, despite the prevailing narrative of black women being the primary victims of colorism.

“We found that a light-skinned Black male can have only a bachelor’s degree and typical work experience and still be preferred over a dark-skinned Black male with an MBA and past managerial positions, simply because expectations of the light-skinned Black male are much higher, and he doesn’t appear as ‘menacing’ as the darker-skinned male applicant,” he says.

For the light-skinned male with just the bachelor’s degree, the average rating was 5.35. For the dark-skinned Black male with an MBA, the average rating was 4.5

Study: Darker-skinned Black Job Applicants Hit More Obstacles

intersectional theory doesn't hold up when you take the time to examine the real facts and figures on the quality of life & marginalization of supposed "oppressed groups". "Immigrant", "Female" & "Homosexual" are supposedly oppressed intersections along with "Black", yet when you add "immigrant", "female", or "homosexual" to "black" you see an increase in the quality of life, and a decrease in systematic marginalization.

You are indeed welcome.

I can't say I subscribe to this because Straight Black Pride as we are literally all we have regardless of sexual orientation BUT i do understand why the movement exists.

However it really surprised me to see this ideology growing within the black community.
