As @MeachTheMonster stated, there's no takeaway though. It's not like you can only buy playstations in japan or something, lol. Ultimately, however an "exclusive" is secured, you as a consumer have every right and means to still play said exclusive somewhere else just the same. "Eventually" doesn't mean it would be coming when it is, nor does it mean it would have gotten the same budget or attention it will now.
Devs have been struggling, even though their games are classic franchises, money is tight. This is a good way to get the game out the door with less risk, its also a good way for platform holders to incentivize the purchase of their product. Gamers still get the games they love and don't have to worry about classic franchises/studios going under. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned
