To add to this and as much as I eventually get weary of the series when they do this, I repeat with this sentiment. This revision thing that Capcom does with SF last gen was a lot less moneyhatting than it was the gens prior, cuz each new game was only like an extra 15-20 bucks when they dropped a good 2 years later and added a lot of balancing throughout. Though for the latter part, I think they may have took the balancing a bit too far at some points and unnecessarily weakened some characters at the bytching requests of their fans. Gens before that tho, these "new" versions cost a whole nother game per iteration. If anything, that's DLC done correctly, not unlike that SFXTK fiasco tho.
its over

People claimed ff7 "put them on the map" or that square wouldn't exist without itThat aint what the fukk nikkas is arguing... not one person said FF wasn't a successful series before 7... We're saying the success of ff series after 6 campared to the success of 1-6 isn't comparable. Looking back 1-6 will always be overshadowed by 7-13.. dont matter if 6 was the best in the series or not.. 6 didn't move units like 7 or 10

I never argued that ff7 wasn't the best selling.
No one claimed that....but in the West/America FF7 really did put it on the map. Only 3 other games were even out in america at the time. 1,4 and 6

Breh, ff6 is only a classic to ff/rpg heads who actually even know the game exists.. FF7 pulled MILLIONS of gamers WORLDWIDE who never played or gave a fukk about rpgs PERIOD. FF7 sold a bunch of copies cause of the cutscenes in the commercials. It's rumored to be one of the most returned games of all times because once the cutscenes ended people realized that it was just an rpg. The only people that truly played through and enjoyed the game were rpg fans, which is why every ff game afterwords got a little more linear, and cinematic, and a little less rpgish.Breh, ff6 is only a classic to ff/rpg heads who actually even know the game exists..
