Fam I wasn't payinf much attention to the console wars. I bought a One so I could play online with my IRL friends, it's what they got. 3 days after I bought it I see that the it's been outsold by the PS4 2-to-1. It burned.

Oh don't worry I got a One too but I had a PS4 also so I could play all the exclusives.

People who are true purists know that 6 is by far the best. HOWEVER, the better part of the RPG community very much so laud FF7 as one of the most influential games of all time. To this day, Aeris dying is one of the most iconic events in modern media. Sephiroth is the quintessential FF villian (even though people admit Kefka is better). And it was the game that made it really cool to play RPGs without it Square wouldnt be the company it is today...prolly wouldnt even be around. BECAUSE of FF7, FF8 was one of the biggest launch events of the gen.

It changed how we connect with games, it changed the typical themes of RPG games (from high fantasy to cyber-punk) and rewrote what it was you could do with storytelling. (People also forget that Cloud "thinking" he was Zack the whole time was a new spin on the amnesia trope. Oh, and the fact that AVALANCHE are basically terrorists.).

I'ma an rpg purist and FF 6 is Not a better rpg then FF7. FF7 is the GOAT FF. And one of the top 3 rpgs ever made.

If FF6 dropped after 7 people would be blown away by it, some of the things you could do in that game, and some of the things that happen are classic. How many turn base rpg's you know with a character that had streetfighter motion moves?

Game wouldn't have happened without Sony's funding. Same with MS and Dead Rising 3



Capcom relying on others to fund their IPs is getting a little pathetic.

IDK i disagree. I think 7 holds your hand a little too much until the end and not to mention the back stories of the side cast (besides Barret and Cid) are way more emotional. I felt Kefka was a better villain and the overall game from start to finish lacked the slow parts of 7. I respect your opinion though. I still love 7 as well.




Back on street fighter. I know this is pre-alpha but I still want the art style to lean a bit further away from 2.5 D.....Blazblue and Persona let us know just how much dopeness could be done with sprites still...IMAGINE the detail in the sprites they could do now.
