That's not true. They use to play a lot of West Coast artists on their show. The first time I heard Pharcyde, Souls Of Mischief, Snoop, Rass Kass, Xzibit, Alkaholiks. was on Stretch and Bobbito. Sh*t, when the Chronic dropped, they damn near played the whole album in rotation. His opinion is heavily biased. Sounds like he totally disregarded west coast hip hop, but its whatever that's him
I consider myself to know more about 90's east coast random hiphop than basically anyone and yet I've gone back to SEVERAL 1994-1996 S&B shows on that hiphop blogspot link and found about 8-10 songs I never heard in my life......these dudes are the gift to keep giving:
Shabaam Sahdeeq-On a Mission
Triip-Keep It Flowin Remix
Buddah Nation
Nas-Street Dreams VR Remix (those Vinyl Reanimator cats had sick remixes for DAYS)
Troopa Deal-On the Lookout
O.C/Heather B-A Clear Day
L-Swift-Check Da Style
LL Cool J-No Airplay Raw Remix (forgot all about that shyt)
at Bob not knowing about NY,NY and
at him not knowing Stretch produced LA,LA
