I miss Akenyele!!!! Listening to him reminds me of how much potential he showed and was living queens legend who inspired a lot of the cats that came out in the mid 90s and on..

Vagina Diner is a personal classic. I played that ridiculously all summer of '93. Dude totally abandoned what he was dope at. Every time I think about what he could've been, I get disappointed. He used to be serious!

I gave Stretch a couple of the old shows that he was missin' on tape back in 2011, so he could digitize them. I've got pretty much every show they did up there, from the very beginning, until like '98. That's when I stopped tapin' weekly. But so many of the greats from back then, stopped doing what we knew them for, to adapt to what was going on later in the 90's. Ak' was one of them that really just changed his whole shyt.

Yea, as I said, Ak style became gimmicky with Put It In Your Mouth. It was a big hit and got him back in the spotlight but on the flipside it put him in this box as some x rated sex rapper. And those who knew of Ak's work prior to that song knew was way more then just that.

I also use to tape Stretch and Bob show heavy up until 97/98ish. By that time, of course the climate of the music changed and the dynamic between Stretch and Bob start to change too.both of their musical preference really started to change around that time with Bobbito favoring more of the eccletic, spaced out, off beat, nerd rap (ie Company Flow, J Treds, Non Phixion, etc) and Stretch was championing more of the street Queensbridge style rap. During their last year together, the chemistry and vibe of the show wasn't as strong as it once was.I kinda lost interest in listening towards the tail end of them being together. After that, I would catch Stretch here and there during his Sunday night show on Hot 97, but by that time I was going to the Tunnel almost every other Sunday lol

I have a box full of Stretch and Bobb shows from around 94 to 97 both Hot 97 and WKCR. I digitally converted a few of them (pain in the ass). They had EXCLUSIVES! These days the Exclusive is dead due to the internet (was bound to happen anyway). That era was amazing though nonetheless
