This is so common among strip clubs. Almost all strip clubs had been sued for the violation of labor laws. The issue is not whether the strippers are getting paid. The problem comes when the clubs treat the dancers as employees ie put them on a schedule, tell them how to dress etc. Most clubs have dancers employed as independent contractors so that they don't have to pay taxes on their wages. So basically its tax evasion. So when they have to pay back wages they also have to pay back taxes. There are clubs that do pay hourly which any smart club would do. Oh and yes as a dancer you still have to pay taxes and report your income.

I'm pretty amoral when it comes to money and compensation. Strippers should be paid fairly just like everyone else. If the club owner is taking 80% or more of their pay, then that truly is pimping, which is illegal. Stripping is not.

I don't have a problem if these broads get a wage salary, but its a double standard for host,hostesses,waitors,and waitresses In most states the law is allowed to lower your wage since you get tips.

You have to report gambling earnings and babysitting money too that doesn't mean it makes it a legit salary,maybe income but not salary. The government would tax anything..

If strip clubs put hoes on a clock they would also have to pay the hoes overtime so they are not going for that. Many strippers would like to claim unemployed so they can be on public assistance.
