I'm thankful I met two of my very best friends - both white, one jewish - back when I was very young and unaware of race relations. It'd be very difficult for me to want to build a close relationship now with whites with my 24 year old mind set. It's just really hard to trust and feel comfortable around them. I feel really disheartened about it- especially after the Trayvon tragedy and the Sterling situation really revealed people's hearts.

The ones in denial frustrate me almost as much as blatant racists do, and unfortunately it feels like the majority of whites - at least in America - fit firmly into one of those two camps.

But they only FOCUS on minorities. A non minority? A cop in Northern Virginia and in DC will be quick to let a white person off. I seen it with my own eyes for weed, crack, drunk driving... you good, drive home

White people have seen it, too. They see it all the time, especially those who engage in those very things. They may shake their heads at it, but mostly -- mostly -- they think it's funny as hell, and that, deep down, 'that ****** deserved it because he must have done something else, he's just getting caught for this, so it's fine he's caught for this'. When whites are let go, whites think it's because they deserved to be let go, being let go is the default.

White people can't claim ignorance, or blindness. They try to, in mixed company; but trust, white people know what the deal is. Why rock the boat when you're not in danger of falling out of it, though?

Then they move to an area which is predominantly Latino or Asian, and they're no longer protected, but see Latinos or Asians getting the preferential treatment, and it blows their minds. They know something isn't right, but how do you define that something which isn't right? Is it that it shouldn't happen to anyone, or that it shouldn't happen to them?

All the white and Jewish coli posters who are out as white and/or Jewish and haven't left yet, tell me I'm wrong.

Whites not accepting the definition Stuart Scott posted is the sorry attempt to trivialize and deflect the true issues with white supremacy and systematic racism. It's really arrogant and some nerve of white people to attempt to compare name calling and residual anger which was started by them in the first place to the systematic racism that exist in this country.

So y'all want to use the example of some white guys getting jumped on. Guess what when that fight is over:

White guy goes to the banks and get the loans. Those black guys who go to the banks won't

White guy kids get to go to schools that recieve triple the state and government funding than black guy kids school will recieve

White guy is on cocaine he gets aa meetings and probation black guy with drugs get a year

White guy wants to open a business and has business groups and power in the districts that will help him open his business black guy does the same and gets met with a group of whites Koreans or Arabs who will vote to make sure you can't open your business in they district

Lets not even mention the same systematic racism that keeps blacks from owning teams running distribution in music and tv stations. Find the interviews on the hell oprah caught trying to get her own station. Find out the hell Tyler perry caught trying to get his own production company

Not to mention the overwhelming influence of negative imagery and stereotypes in music movies and television that we for generations have to continue to overcome, and the lies that convince white people and the world that this country is taking care of us through programs set aside , welfare etc which is all a damn lie.

So yea ill trade name calling for the ability to reap the benefits of systematic racism that benefits whites. Those white boys who got beat up feel some type of way show him that this is what happens to blacks when we attempt to make progress :

I'm in the same boat. I got one close white friend. Known each other since grade 5. Aside from that, no close white friends. Many acquaintances, though and that's how I've always kept it. Never got to a friendship level cuz them clowns get drunk and turn into new people. Thing is, there are some legit white folk out there, though...I've seen em first hand, the problem is, I'm not willing to get through all the "cacs" to find the legit white folk. Not saying I'd never befriend white folk. Just saying I got my core already set up. I'm not going to go out of my way to identify whether the new guy is a friend or foe.
