We never took out a loan for my education, now we are cash strapped..seeing the possibility of loan forgiveness is much to my chagrin, though I can't hate on the people about to eat off of it. I just don't think its fair to the people already through the system that grinded their ass off to pay off loans already or the people who grinded their ass off beforehand and didn't need to take a loan in the first place. Its a misnomer to think that everyone without student loans is well off; education is pricey as fukk to 99% of America.

:what: what happened to being happy for others? selfishness i tell you:rudy:

Honestly I think it needs to be extended to non-social/public service occupations. It makes no sense that a doctor can work for 10+ years saving lives and helping people and still be faced with crushing debt. Or even a business person who got their MBA and is consulting for or performing other functions for multinational companies that are 'supposed' to supply the country with jobs.

A ton of other developed nations have systems in place that make higher education free or relatively inexpensive. Not saying America needs to go that way, but if you are a contributing member of society for a certain amount of years after obtaining higher education, I think you deserve some relief. Its almost like punishing people who are trying to be productive members of society by hampering their purchasing and spending habits with that amount of debt.

Only people who shouldn't be eligible are the folks who don't finish and obtain their degree or the folks who don't work after because they only went to college to have sex or find a partner.
