Uncertain grounds
i would say 90% of the people i see outside since april or so have been wearing masks. the only time is some random gruff dude at a gas station every once in a while, some young idiots at a store or more recently, a pair of people eating together outside (which is understandable)

I agree that most are not following the rules but opening things up completely will destroy the hospitals IMO. People have to be responsible but even that is too much to expect.
The worst is behind us. If they can handle that peak, they can handle what is to come

Masks are required in businesses out here, and highly encouraged in public, but I’m not wearing them shyts outdoors. Masks were not meant to be worn for endless hours

Why doesn't anybody ever talk about wearing gloves tho? Just curious

Nobody wearing masks down south if they can help it. That's why this shyt will be around for a long time. :francis:

I wear my my mask anytime I'm around people in public.
I’d imagine it’s too fukking hot down south to have a mask on your face smothering hot air back all over you.

I won’t judge people about masks, they are extremely uncomfortable and hard to breathe in (the ones with valves are a bit better but out here they’ve said those aren’t approved for indoor shopping since they allow you to breathe your “particles” outward  )

I do. Very much so.

Its stupid not to wear one unless you're exercising IMO.

Its really the only logical way to slow this virus down without locking people inside their homes.

I don’t wear one outdoors at all and I’m still here and healthy :manny:

And like I said, in Cali, it’s mandated to wear one inside businesses, what people do on the sidewalks, in parks, at the beach, etc is up to them

Wow, thank you for your anecdotal evidence. This is key evidence in why...

...this disease will continue to spread.

“I haven’t been sick yet so its all good.” :ehh:

Like I said, if you’re around people and not exercising, people should be wearing it. If you’re exercising stay away from people. At least California is mandating it for inside use. That’s what the rest of the country should be doing.

The probability of getting it outdoors while simply passing someone is much lower than sitting inside with recycled air and what not. So yes, I’m with the group of people who aren’t about to sit outside in the park breathing their exhaled Co2 back into their system by sitting in a mask for two hours. :manny:

this disease is going to continue to spread regardless, this looks very much like it will become an endemic flu strain. Our precautions weren’t to fully stop the spread, it is/was to slow it. If “only” 50% of people wear masks all the time, that’s what we wanted - to slow it.

Because wearing gloves doesn't do a dam thing. Just wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer when your out.

I use to wear gloves until medical professionals I know told me it wasn't necessary.

Again, assumptions like these are why we'll be stuck with this virus for the foreseeable future.

"Why take a shower? You'll just get dirty again."

I'd rather a small amount of people have it, than have it spread aggressively like it is now. That's just me though.

I don’t believe this is aggressive IMO, is it the slowest, no, but we didn’t overwhelm our hospital system other than NYC (which has regained control) which is/was the point.

I’m for people doing what they want, those of y’all who want to become bubble boy and stop your lives forever, cool, if idiots want to be unmasked at the club with 1000 sweaty dancing people, more rona to them, but for those of us who are going to split the difference - not take unnecessary risk while also realizing that being outside unmasked doesn’t = death and infection on sight, we will continue to do our thang as well.

Wearing a mask isn't stopping your life.

I'm not for people doing what they want because in the long run, it will end up hurting everyone. That's what public safety is about.

No one is saying to stay inside indefinitely, or never go outside, or even see your friends. Just wear a mask when you're out and about. Now you may say hey I'm outside, no biggie. Well if you're doing that and don't want to wear a mask, don't act like things are back to normal ie this:
