Nothing new. You can see this in magazines for the last 3 or 4 decades.
Go look at an old playboy magazine and how all the black women in there would say how they were mixed with this and that.
Then when the internet came about and you had model and social media sites you had sistas and brothas all on them saying they mixed with this or that.
The goal is to be as watered down black as possible even if you aren't.
The shyt has fukked up folks heads so bad that even now when they see black folks in the real world they think they mixed cause they light or got some hair.
If I had a dollar for every time some dumb as black person or Mexican asked my wife when I am not around if my 3 year old daughter is mixed. They are only asking this dumb ass shyt cause she light and got a bunch of curly ass hair. If she was bald headed no one would ask my wife this dumb ass shyt.
But as I said this isn't just shyt in the states but I run into this shyt outside the country. I have mentioned on here that my wife is natural and her hair texture is similar to the sista wickedsm and she is natural. I have straight up had folks overseas ask me if my wife is was Brazilian or Dominican or Puerto Rican. All because they assume that black American women have a certain texture of hair......

The reverse usually happens unfortunately. Always ask what I'm mixed with despite being relatively dark skinned.
