- In many black areas you have what they call "Food deserts". Where it's impossible to even find a decent grocery store for miles around.

- Many of the food stores in these black areas are usually run by Asians, Arabs, Dominicans are just rather low quality.

- The stores carry an excessive amount of sodas, chips and candies in other words; Junk food that contributes to many of the health problems that black people have.

Solutions

- form a study group slash neighborhood Think Tank to solve the problem of not having adequate food markets.

- link up with Farms and food companies as well as real estate people I want to provide supermarkets and feel the supermarkets with food meats and other.

- hook up with local officials and form neighborhood zoning boards in these poor black neighborhoods.

Form groups that screen and properly zone businesses that would start in the neighborhood so you won't have all the Arabs, Asians and Hispanics just starting trash businesses in black neighborhoods so readily.

There's some nice food markets by me

But when u in the store at the grocery checkout i see black folks with 4 cases of soda, chips, candy bars, packages of frozen fried food, etc.

A lot of folks in the community desire bad food and it will not change regardless of better healthier food options

I personally don't believe that. I believe that is just a dearth of good food options in black neighborhoods.

And even if people want to choose foods that are unhealthy it would be better if they were grass-fed or whole grain then just garbage filled with chemicals.

But even with that said it's some places there no supermarkets for miles.

Not saying there are not alot of options..

A lot of people in the hood and it's generational passed down is accustomed to the bad foods..same goes for latinos and native Americans

I rarely see folks especially the first week of the first of the month in the store loading up on apples, bananas, oranges, health bars compared to sweets

Are you talking about "generic" solutions, things that black people should be doing ourselves to help, things that poor black people should do, or things that entrepreneurs should be doing as startup businesses?

There is no one answer to this solution...time and energy are huge commodities that not all black people: A - have OR B - capitalize on.

It's difficult to expect a single working parent to cook two meals a day and provide a nice healthy lunch - though that would be probably cheaper and more healthy than buying food. It's not "easy" and unfortunately many people choose "easy" over "healthy" or "right" or "necessary" or etc.

This is like trying to build a sky scraper starting from the roof.

Until the income issue is resolved or improves significantly, any resource not dedicated to improving it is a waste of time.

Veggies and fruits are some of the cheapest items in the grocery store(not to mention easy to scam at the self checkout).
I see poor people buying their kids kds and LeBron's all day. Argument is an excuse breh

The availability of healthy food is only half the problem. Regardless of race, lower income people, especially with multiple kids are not trying to chop vegetables, and make healthy meals. They also need fo stretch their food, so perishable items aren't on the top of their shopping list. They want those kids fed, full, and need leftovers. People also tend to give kids "kiddie foods" like pizza, and chicken fingers. That's what is on every kids menu at restaurants. The kids get used to that food, and usually continue to eat that way as they get older. A lot of people don't even attempt to introduce kids to new foods.
As a result, they just eat what the kids eat, because it's more convenient than making two meals.

It is not easy to get a grown adult to change eating habits, and folks like convenience. These meal kit deliveries are popular, and give you all the ingredients and recipes, but at $60 plus for 3 meals with 2 servings, it's not affordable for low income.

Income is important
We go to the farmers market and organic food shop
Reality is it costs twice as much to purchase non processed foods
We do have a black man that delivers produce to people’s home
Fruits and veg but not enough people know about this option or can access it

This would be the most important part of the plan: Developing relationships with black on farms or either building black on farms ourselves.
