He even used classic "states rights" argument to be against DOMA instead of human rights appeal that are popular among liberals as of now but he was against gay marriage in his state.

As far as the gay rights issue, there are some contradictory statements you can find in Sander's past

Personally, I agree with his decision here given that they legalized Civil Union before and he stated he took essentially a non-commital to refusal (see above again) to same sex marriage because it was so divisive. If I was in his shoes I would do the same thing. However, my point is, that you people are acting like he is not a politician (the irony is that the above statement and decision by bernie was the epitome of a political calculation. Same as his reasoning on reparations.) while I beg to differ.

He only vocally supported gay marriage once the legislature in his own state passed it.

The thing is I obviously have no dog in this fight as a heterosexual male, I just brought it up as an example of "evolution" on part of Bernie Sanders.

Ok fact check, sanders was never against gay rights. Read the time magazine article which itself was a giant smear. They do not have any votes or evidence of sanders against gay rights and in fact, as mayor of burlington, he proclaimed a gay rights parade in 1983. Read your own links.
