i was reading an article on drew henson the other day
he was considered a can't miss prospct in baseball and football
drafted high by yankees, quarterback at u.michigan
end tally: 1 single in mlb, 1 td pass in nfl
what happened??

he overthought things
became very mechanical in his approach
was impatient .. couldn't see big picture
instead of getting into the mix
he'd get lost in his head and fixate on mistakes
worried about what others thought of him
instead of just playing through relatively minor adversity
i mean

try to imagine a situation when long periods of reflection + inactivity trumps..
the "85% action, 10% review/recover, 5% set new goals" approach to life-
personally i can only dwell on a topic for so long

before my "insights" move from meaningful to banal
at that point i am only procrastinating against fear
