forget all that old school nonsense. time to get with the times.
click this link and find out which math you're going to take
http://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseaction=browse.getOrganizationDetail&FICE=1004997
this acenet.edu stuff will give you college credit for certain courses you take thru these venders. the vender for math that is accepted/accredited is Aleks.com . you will see after clicking on that link it will show you all of the aleks classes that will grant you college credit. the way aleks works is this. you pay a monthly fee of like $20. Its on you how fast you want to complete your course. the longer you take obviously the more $20's you'll pay out. but this is a dirt cheap way of taking math. and its actually better than the old fashion way unless you end up with a great teacher(which doesnt happen most of the time in math. most teachers are good at math but not good at teaching it.) Anyway, this thing works similar to
https://www.khanacademy.org/ which i also recommend for brushing up on math all the way from basic 2+2 to calculus II or so.
you will be given an online assessment to see where you already are(you probably remember some things and not others). then it will show you what you need to learn. you will then get homework like questions on those areas and you cant move on until you complete those assignments, then take another assessment that will have you tested in the areas you were working in recently. wash rinse and repeat until you're done.
The beauty of this is two fold. #1 you are actually taking the real class while also going thru the material. unlike if i sent you to khan or like what you were about to do which is semi audit the class first(go thru the material practice problems on your own). thats wasting time. might as well dive right in. you wont have to have that fear of failing because Aleks doesnt work like that. its all about how good you are at certain topics within a subject. if you're not that good fine, we'll get you there. Thats their setup. By the time you realize "i think i got it" you will be done with the class and have college credit TOO all for cheap assuming you knock it out. but you have to stay on it and do some work consistently every day.
you will never find a cheaper way to knock out some college level math.
***one last thing. notice i never said to purchase a book. DIRT CHEAP. no downloading of torrents, nothing. $20 per month to use their system and finish the class with legit college credit. Thank me later.***
