I wouldnt say a stupid belief... but a silly belief that alot of females have is that "the perfect guy" (tall,handsome.has money,dope car,big dikk,funny,good personality) Is not only out there(he might be) but that he is interested in THEM and their regular ass, and even if somehow this guy who is "perfect" is into you, he literally has 2390482384029840284390 options, so your only chance of getting him is being the cream of the crop 
so basically I think girls dont realize a nikka thats a 9/10 or a 10/10 wants a girl who is a dime/perfect
