I don't see how this would prevent the teller from losing the job. A fukk up is still a fukk regardless if the person returned the money or not.

Yea, I know. I'd just try to help them how I could. Management might be assuming they stole it or something. Could save their rep atleast. This is the ONLY reason though. Personally, if I could get away with taking billions from a bank without getting caught. I would with NO QUALMS ABOUT IT AT ALL.

Ultimately, ask yourself this. If for some reason you are $200 short on your mortgage or a loan you took out, and you told the bank, "hey remember when I gave y'all back $200 one time when you gave me too much? Can you cut me a break this month?"

They will essentially look at you and laugh.
