My wife personally took my oldest out of ballet when her instructor floated the idea of "going out on the town" with our daughter unsupervised a couple of years ago. Wasn't going to have any of the other girls in class with them.
She always exhibited preferences towards my daughter, but every teacher typically has their favorite. The entire energy was off though and she never went back to that particular school after that. No adult should be casually kicking it with any child that they're not related to by blood.
